Sutlac Recipe
Step 1
First, pour a cup of milk with sugar into a suitable pot and put it on low heat. Next, stir the milk and sugar well until the sugar dissolves in the milk.
Step 2
Now, combine the rest of the sugar with vanilla in a separate pot, add the yolk and remaining milk to the pot, and mix them well. Next, gradually add the milk and sugar mixture to the pot.
Step 3
Put the pot on low heat and stir the ingredients continuously for 10 minutes. Then turn off the heat.
Step 4
Lightly toast your flour in an un-oiled pan. Once you see or smell the flour starting to brown, add butter, and stir it vigorously until everything is integrated and you have stirred out most of the clumps.
Step 5
Then add the flour and butter mixture to the pot. Now put the pot on the heat again and mix them well until the flour is completely dissolved in the milk. Then put the pot aside.
Step 6
Preheat the oven to 180 Celsius or 350 Fahrenheit degree.
Step 7
Pour the rice milk mixture into ramekins and set them aside. Pour some cold water into the oven tray and place the bowls containing the rice milk mixture on the oven tray. Then put the oven tray in the oven and bake them for 15 minutes until it is ready.
Step 8
It is ready when it is caramelized and golden brown on the surface. Take it out of the oven and let it adjust to room temperature. Then put the Sutlac in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours and serve it with your family. You can garnish it with cinnamon and crushed almond. Enjoy your meal!
Step 9
You can also prepare Sutlac by substituting rice flour with rice. For this purpose, simmer a cup of short-grain rice for 20 minutes until tender. Then add milk and mix it with the rest of the ingredients.
