Chicken stroganoff is one of the old Russian dishes. This dish combines chicken, cream, milk, mushrooms, potatoes, and onions.

Ingredients for four people
Boneless chicken breast500 g
mushroom500 g
medium onion1
Milk1 cup
All-purpose flour2 tbsp
Butter50 g
Breakfast cream200 g
Medium potatoes4
Vegetable oil1 cup
fresh parsley25 g
salt1.5 tsp
Turmeric1 tsp
Black pepper1 tsp

Chicken Stroganoff Instructions

Step 1

Cut the chicken breast into thin strips. Peel the onion and cut it into slices, then put a pan on heat and add two spoons of vegetable oil.

Step 2

Add the chopped onion to the pan and saute for 5 minutes. Add the chicken pieces, saute for another 5 minutes, and then cover the pan.

Step 3

Reduce the heat under the pan and let the chicken cook for 20 minutes. Put another pan on the heat and add 10 grams of butter.

Step 4

Cut the mushrooms into slices and add them, then sauté for 10 minutes. Add the sautéed mushrooms to the pan containing the chicken.

Step 5

Add salt, black pepper, turmeric, and sauté for 5 minutes. Heat a small pan and add the remaining butter.

Step 6

After the butter is heated, add all-purpose flour and sauté for 10 minutes on low heat. Add the milk slowly and stir continuously, so the flour does not form lumps.

Step 7

Let the milk and all-purpose flour mixture simmer for 7-10 minutes until it thickens, then add the breakfast cream and mix until smooth.

Step 8

Add the milk, flour, and cream mixture to the pan containing the chicken and mix. Let the food boil for 10 minutes on low heat until ready.

Step 9

Peel the potatoes cut them into thin strips, wash them with cold water, and dry them. Heat a small pot and add vegetable oil.

Step 10

After the oil is hot, add the stringy potatoes to the pot and fry. After frying the potatoes, put them in a Metal strainer to drain the oil.

Step 11

After the chicken stroganoff is ready, pour it into the dish of your choice, garnish with fried potatoes, Chopped parsley, and serve.
