Milk Halwa is one of the types of simple international Halwa that you can make with various recipes. This halwa combines all-purpose flour, milk, sugar, vegetable oil, and butter.

Ingredients for four people
All-purpose flour1 cup
Milk2 cup
Sugar1 cup
Vegetable oil¼ cup
Butter¼ cup
ground saffron⅛ tsp
rose water (Golab)½ cup

Milk Halwa Instructions

Step 1

Pour milk and sugar into a pot and put it on low heat until the sugar dissolves in the milk. (No need to boil the milk)

Step 2

After the sugar dissolves, add ground saffron and rose water and mix, then take the pot off the heat.

Step 3

Place a pan on low heat and add all-purpose flour, then sauté it gently for 30 minutes until the color of the flour changes slightly.

Step 4

After 30 minutes, sift the flour and pour it into the pan. Add liquid oil and butter and fry slowly until the flour does not form a lump.

Step 5

Add milk and sugar mixture to the pan in 4 steps and mix. It would be best if you patiently sautéed the halwa until it separates from the pan walls.

Step 6

After the halva becomes solid, take it out of the pan and put it in the dish you want, then decorate it with slivered pistachios and serve.
