Dawood Basha Stew Recipe
Dawood Basha (Dawood Pasha) stew is one of the famous dishes of Turkey. This dish is a type of meatball that is a combination of minced beef, onion, pomegranate paste, and dry mint.
Ingredients for four people | |
Minced beef | 500 g |

Pomegranate paste | 2 tbsp |

Turmeric | 1 tsp |
Black pepper | 1 tsp |

Dawood Basha Stew Instructions
Step 1
Peel and grate one of the onions. Put the grated onion in a metal strainer and press it with your hand until the juice comes out.
Step 2
pour Grated onion, ground beef, salt, black pepper powder, turmeric powder, and cinnamon powder into a bowl and knead by hand for 10 minutes.
Step 3
Take the size of a walnut from the ground beef mixture and shape it into a round shape, then place it in a tray. Prepare all the ingredients in the same way.

Cover the tray with cellophane and put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. After this time, take the tray from the fridge.
Step 5
Put a pan on heat and add three spoons of vegetable oil. After the oil is hot, add the meatballs and fry well; then, Peel the remaining onion and chop it finely.
Step 6
Take the fried meatballs out of the pan. Add chopped onion to the pan and sauté for 3 minutes, then add dry mint and pomegranate paste and sauté for another 30 seconds.
Step 7
Add 1 cup of boiling water and lower the heat under the pan, then add the fried meatballs and let them cook for 30 minutes. After the stew sauce thickens, serve it with French fries.
