Shir Berenj Recipe | Delicious Persian rice pudding
Shir Berenj is one of the simple and delicious Iranian dishes. This dish combines milk, rice, sugar, rose water, butter, and cream.
|Ingredients for four people|
|basmati rice||1 cup|
|Breakfast cream||¼ cup|
|cardamom powder||½ tsp|
Shir Berenj Instructions
Wash basmati rice and put it in a water bowl, then let it soak for 6 hours. (You can soak the rice the night before)
After soaking the rice, rewash it, then pour it into a large pot. Add water and put the pot on medium heat to cook the rice for one hour.
After an hour, add milk and stir every few minutes. After 30 minutes, add sugar and stir until it dissolves completely.
After 10 minutes, add the butter and let cook for another 45 minutes. After this time, add cardamom powder and rose water and stir, then wait another 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, take the pot off the heat, add the breakfast cream and stir. Pour the Shir Berenj into the desired dish and serve after decorating with slivered pistachios.
