Chicken Borek Recipe
Step 1
Wash the chicken meat, then take the chicken skin off and chop them in a cubic manner in bite-size.
Step 2
Peel and coarsely chop the onion, put a pan on the heat and add two tablespoons of oil. Then sauté the onions in oil over medium heat. Let them caramelize gently.
Step 3
Add the chicken meat to the pan. When the chopped chicken changes its color, add thyme, black pepper, turmeric, and salt to the chicken, then sauté until the aroma of the spices is released.
Step 4
Chop the mushrooms and bell peppers, add them to the pan, and sauté until their liquid evaporates and becomes well cooked. Then turn the heat to low.
Step 5
Add mustard and ketchup to the chicken mixture, then sauté a little and turn off the heat.
Step 6
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Step 7
Place the dough diagonal on your tray. Pile a layer of the ingredients on the sheets and a sprinkle of mozzarella and roll it. It will get an envelope shape. Rub a few drops of water on the other side of the sheet so that it sticks together and the ingredients do not fall out. Then roll and tighten it until you hit the end. You can also place the Yufka sheets and the ingredients in a container layer by layer like lasagna.
Step 8
Place the Boreks into the oven and bake them for 20 to 30 minutes until it is nice and golden brown. You can sauté them if there is no oven. Put a suitable pan on low heat and add some oil. You should heat the oil to 175 Celsius degrees. You can check the temperature by putting a chopstick on the oil. You have good heat if it fizzes up after about 5 to 10 seconds. If it fizzes up immediately, it means it is almost too hot. When oil starts to heat, add your Boreks.
Step 9
When it becomes golden brown and crispy on both sides, your Borek is ready. Serve Borek with ketchup and enjoy it with your family and friends.
