Ham Piroshki Recipe pirozhki

We have made different types of pirozhkis, like chicken or beef pirozhki, at Takrecipe, and today we want to share our secret for making a fantastic pirozhki with ham filling. Making piroshki is always a pleasure for everyone, but making the dough is a bit difficult and time-consuming. Now we will teach you one of the easiest and quickest ways of making a delicious pirozhki. You can fry pirozhki or put them in the oven if you are on a diet. Of course, if you don’t have enough time to prepare the dough, you can use a ready-made shortcrust pastry or Yufka dough. Children usually love pirozhki, and you can prepare this food and give it to your children as a snack to take with them to school. Stay with us to learn how to prepare this tasty version of pirozhki.

Ham Piroshki Recipe

Step 1

To prepare the dough, add salt, sugar, baking powder, and liquid oil or softened butter into a bowl and gradually sift flour on them.

Step 2

Then add egg and sour cream to another bowl and whisk them until they are smooth.

Step 3

Add the egg mixture to the flour bowl and mix well by stirring with a spoon or spatula until the dough is slightly sticky and forms a mass. Note that the dough should be somewhat sticky, and adding too much flour will produce a very dry and highly stiff dough.

Step 4

Now knead the dough for 10 to 15 minutes by hand or 6 to 10 minutes in a mixer until the dough becomes smooth and elastic. This dough does not need to rest, but you can cover it with a towel and refrigerate it for an hour.

Step 5

Lightly flour your surface and tip the dough out. Then roll out the dough to half a centimeter thickness uniformly with a rolling pin.

Step 6

Cut the ham into small cubes. It should be smaller than one-inch pieces.

Step 7

Use a round cookie cutter or a small bowl to cut the dough. Then pile the chopped ham on one corner of the dough, and top it with mozzarella. You can also use sautéed vegetables and mushrooms to fill the pirozhki.

Step 8

Then brush some drops of water on the corners of the dough. Start from one end and close the dough by pressing your finger or fork firmly to seal the edges.

Step 9

Fill a deep pan with enough frying oil to submerge the piroshkis and bring the oil to 180 Celsius or 350 Fahrenheit. Then carefully put the pirozhkis in it, and deep fry them until golden brown. Once they are crispy outside, put them on a rack so they can drain the excess oil.

Step 10

To avoid frying, you can also bake at 180 Celsius or 350 Fahrenheit for 20 minutes. Then turn on the grill for two minutes until the pirozhkis are golden. Make this tasty and nutritious pirozhki and serve it with your desired sauce. Enjoy your meal!
