Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180 Celsius or 350 Fahrenheit degree.

Step 2

Remove or trim the mushroom stems. For this purpose, you can easily push down the stem two or three times, and it will remove itself. You can also twist the stalk and pop it out. Mushrooms go bad quickly, so try to get mushrooms fresh and dry; softer mushrooms which developed a slimy film are not edible anymore.

Step 3

Grease the oven tray with oil or cooking spray and place the mushroom caps upside down.

Step 4

Mix ketchup with garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper in a suitable bowl and pour some of the sauce into each mushroom.

Step 5

Cover the mushrooms with grated or sliced mozzarella cheese. Cut the sausage into slices and place a piece of sausage on each mushroom.

Step 6

Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake it for about 15 to 20 minutes. Your stuffed mushrooms are ready when the cheese melts, and the mushrooms are soft. Garnish them with a sprinkle of chopped parsley and serve with cold drinks. Enjoy your meal!

Note: You can also use chicken instead of sausage. For this purpose;

Step 1

Put a chicken breast with two cups of water, one small onion, one piece of cinnamon stick, salt, and turmeric in a suitable pot and let the chicken simmer to cook through.

Step 2

After the chicken meat is cooked, shred or chop it into bite-size pieces. Next, finely chop a small onion and sauté it with a bit of oil in a suitable pan until it becomes translucent.

Step 3

Add the chicken meat, turmeric, and black pepper to the pan and sauté it for a while. Then place the chicken meat into the mushrooms and put a layer of mozzarella cheese on it. Bake it in the oven until it is ready.
